- I've had these similar problems with the 10/95 ROM internal V33.4
- Sporster
-
- 1. WINCIM (and other window's programs) only works once. After using
- the modem once, it would not work again without restarting Windows.
- 2. Windows for Workgroups crashes
- 3. Mouse dissappears
- 4. Modem won't initialize
-
- So far, things are getting better.
- 1. The disk was drivespaced. Page 58 of the Sportster Quick reference
- manual said to put in an EMMEXCLUDE = C800-D1FF if doublespace was being
- used.
- 2. My machine already had a COM1 and COM2. The internal modem was on
- COM3 which shared IRQ4 with COM1 the mouse. A posting from U.S. Robotics
- on Wincim's ModemV forum said that the Sportster cannot share IRQ's. So
- changing to IRQ 5 helped.
- 3. I got a new modem script file for USRALL either from the Compuserve
- forum or USR's BBS. 847-982-5092
-
- HOWEVER, the AT&T Worldnet autodialer software hangs up the machine if
- Sportster 28.8 is selected. I've found that choosing Hayes compatible
- 14.4k works.
-
- However, my AT&T WorldNet autodialer hangs up the machine.
